Guyanese and foreigners alike came out in their numbers to celebrate Mash 2007 in the capital city of Georgetown as Guyana celebrated yet another republic status anniversary. The focus this year was on the clash between the cellular phone giants GT&T and Digicel as they stormed the city with their brightly decorated costumes and floats. It was a fun time for those who paraded the costumes and even more fun for those who cheered them on as they made their way to the National Park for the final round of judging. Enjoy.

John "Slingshot" DrePaul fell off of
his horse drawn float less than 200 meters after these shots were
taken. Slingshot ended up with four broken bones in his lower back
but like the true warrior that he is, he managed to climb back onto
his station and painfully completed the rest of the Mash route
waving to his many fans and supporters. Get well soon John, you are
