Report for Monday January 24th 2004

My apologies for running this late but the internet Americas2 cable was disrupted, we got it back our internet connection after midnight and it is now 5.16am on Tuesday as we post this report for Monday the 24th of January 2005.

Report on the weather for Monday 24th is as follows: Bright sunny day with slight shower from time to time. The pumping is working extremely slowly but we have seen a drop of maybe 11inches so far. The rain just fell at 4.53AM (Tuesday 25th) but it did not last very long, I do pray that tomorrow is a sunny day as well so that the pumps can get to move more of this water off of the East Coast.

I went out alone today as my team members, Sheik and Camille were busy getting things in place for the mercy missions that we have been carrying on for the last few days. There is still so much water in all of the villages along the coast that it seems as if this flood will be with us for a very long time to come. Villagers from Chateau Margot south decided to convert an old sugar punt into a makeshift kitchen and actually sailed it out from the backlands and moored it next to the railway embankment road.

The photos are from different parts of the east coast, we will add in the captions a bit later. I hope that these photos will give you a better understanding of the extent of the flooding here on the East Coast.
